Door-to-Door Moving Service
We collect your belongings from your current home, load and transport them, then unload and place them at your new property.
Furniture & Fabric Protection
Fabric furnishings such as lounges, mattresses and upholstered chairs are wrapped in new protective coverings. Other furniture is protected using appropriate moving blankets and protective materials.
Furniture Dismantling & Reassembly
Some furniture is safer or easier to move when dismantled. Where appropriate, our team can dismantle items for transport and reassemble them at your new home.
Storage Between Homes
If your moving and settlement dates do not line up, short- or longer-term storage can be arranged between collection and delivery.
Inventory & Condition Reporting
We prepare a detailed inventory and condition report for the goods being moved, providing a clear record at collection and delivery.
Packing Debris Removal
Once your move is complete, we remove and recycle all packing materials, leaving your home clean and clutter-free.

Palmers Protect+ Warranty is available as an additional protection option for eligible moves. It is a warranty product, not an insurance policy.

How much does a local move cost?
There is no single standard price for a local move. The amount you are moving, the services you need and the overall scope of the job all affect the quote.

How do you work out my moving quote?
We start with what you are taking and what you need us to do.
For some moves, a clear inventory gives us enough information. For larger or more involved moves, we may recommend a video or in-home survey so we can assess the move properly before preparing the quote.
Do I need an in-home or video survey?
Not always.
If you have a relatively short, straightforward inventory, we may be able to assess the move from the information you provide. As the move gets larger or harder to describe accurately, a survey becomes more useful.
A video survey can often provide what we need without somebody visiting the property. An in-home survey may be more appropriate where a closer assessment is helpful.
What can cause my moving quote to change?
The main reason is that the job changes after it was originally assessed.
That might mean significantly more belongings are being moved, additional services are requested, or important details have changed. If something changes before moving day, let us know so we can review the move rather than leaving it until the crew arrives.
What do I need to organise for an apartment move?
Start by checking with your building or strata manager.
Some buildings require a lift or loading-area booking, restrict the hours when moves can take place, or have specific requirements for removalists. If there are arrangements we need to know about, send them through when your move is being organised.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes, where it is appropriate for the item.
Some furniture is safer or easier to move when dismantled, while other pieces are better left assembled. If you have larger or unusual furniture, mention it when we assess your move so we can work out what is required.
Can Palmers pack my belongings?
Yes. You can have us pack everything, selected items, or pack yourself.
Professional packing can be useful for fragile belongings, larger households or when there simply is not enough time to get everything ready before moving day. We can also provide packing materials if you prefer to do the packing yourself.
How far in advance should I book my move?
Once you have a likely moving date, it is worth getting in touch.
You do not necessarily need every detail finalised before speaking with us. Availability varies, and busy moving periods can fill earlier than others.
