Palmers Relocations provides comprehensive moving services, including local, interstate, and international relocations, expert packing and unpacking, secure storage solutions, vehicle and pet transport, and tailored moving plans for homes and businesses. All services are delivered by AFRA-accredited professionals to ensure peace of mind at every step.

How can I get a quote for my move? 

The best way to get an accurate quote is to provide information about what you’re moving and where you’re moving to. You can request a quote online HERE or by calling our team on 1300 363 916 — it only takes a few minutes.

For larger or more complex moves, we’ll arrange a free virtual or in-home survey so our relocation specialists can assess access, volume, and any special requirements. This helps us provide a precise, all-inclusive quote with no hidden surprises.

How far in advance should I book?

It depends on the type of move. For local or interstate relocations, booking 4–8 weeks in advance is usually sufficient to secure your preferred date. During peak moving season, however, clients often book up to 3 months ahead to guarantee their chosen timing.

For international moves, the earlier, the better. Once you have a tentative departure date, contact Palmers Relocations. Our home relocation consultants will work with your timeline, planning your move backward to ensure everything aligns seamlessly with your arrangements.

How much does a local and interstate move cost?

For local and interstate moves, costs are primarily determined by:

  • Volume of items being moved: The more furniture, boxes, and belongings you have, the larger the truck and crew required, which impacts the overall price. Properly assessing your inventory helps us provide a precise quote.

  • Travel distance: Longer distances increase fuel and transport costs.

  • Selected services: Optional services like packing materials, packing and unpacking services, storage, or vehicle/pet transport can affect pricing.

  • Additional requirements: Any special access needs, delicate or oversized items, or time-sensitive scheduling may influence the cost.

How much do international removals cost?

The cost of an international move depends on several key factors:

  • Distance: Longer distances increase transport costs.

  • Size of your move: Larger moves require more space and resources. Many international removal companies charge by volume, weight, or both, so it’s important to clarify this when requesting a quote. 

  • Moving date: Peak seasons — in Australia – from November to February, Easter, school holidays, weekends, and in Europe –  during summer — can increase moving costs.

  • Type of transport: Air freight is generally the most expensive, while sea freight is more cost-effective. Palmers offers sole-use containers for larger volumes or shared container services for smaller moves.

  • Additional costs: Optional services such as transit insurance, vehicle or pet relocation, and shipping of art or wine may be included or charged separately.

  • Included services: Always check what’s included in the quote — for example, packing materials, packing service, customs and quarantine management, and transit insurance.

What are your payment terms and options?

To book your move, we require a $500 deposit along with the completed acceptance form. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your moving date.

Payments can be made by credit card (Mastercard, Visa, etc.) or bank transfer if you’d like to avoid card surcharges.
This process helps us secure your booking, allocate the right resources, and make sure your move runs smoothly from start to finish.

Care, Safety & Quality

Are there items you can’t move?

Local Moves
For local moves, Palmers Relocations cannot transport hazardous substances (such as flammable liquids, corrosives, or explosives), illegal items, perishable food, or living plants and animals. Please also keep valuables such as cash, jewellery, or important personal documents with you during the move. If you have oversized, fragile, or specialty items like pianos or artwork, let us know in advance so we can arrange proper handling.

Interstate Moves
The same restrictions on hazardous goods, perishable items, and illegal objects apply to interstate moves. Additionally, each Australian state has its own biosecurity laws for certain plants, produce, and animal products. Our team can advise you on compliance to ensure a smooth delivery. Valuable personal belongings, including passports and essential electronics, should travel with you.

International Moves
International relocations are subject to strict customs and quarantine regulations. Palmers Relocations cannot move prohibited or restricted items such as firearms, drugs, perishables, plants, soil, foodstuffs, or certain animal products. Each destination may have additional specific restrictions, and our team will guide you through what’s permitted. If you are moving to Australia, then you can find the list of prohibited goods here. Always keep passports, visas, keys, and high-value personal items with you during transit.

Do you provide packing and unpacking services?

Yes! At Palmers Relocations, our experienced team offers tailored packing and unpacking services to make your move stress-free. We can:

  • Handle full-home or partial packing and unpacking

  • Use eco-friendly and sustainable packing materials

  • Offer valet unpacking services for a seamless settle-in experience

    Can I assist with the move, or move items myself?

    At Palmers Relocations, we tailor your move to suit your needs. You can do as much or as little as you like.

    • Pack your own goods: We can help load, transport, and deliver them safely to your new home.

    • Full-service move: You can leave everything to us, and we’ll handle it from start to finish.

    • Move certain items yourself: If you’d like to transport specific items on your own, let our team know during planning. This helps us coordinate logistics and update your inventory accurately, ensuring you only pay for the items we are moving.

    With Palmers, your move is completely flexible — we work around your preferences to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible.

        How are my furniture and valuables protected in transit?

        Your belongings are in safe hands with Palmers Relocations. All furniture and fragile items are expertly wrapped and protected using high-grade, sustainable packing materials. Everything is carefully secured inside the vehicle to prevent movement during transport.

        For artwork, antiques, electronics, and other high-value or delicate items, we offer specialist packing and handling to ensure maximum protection.

        For additional peace of mind, we also offer Palmers Protect+ Extended Warranty options tailored to your move.

        Our priority is to ensure your items arrive safely, securely, and in the same condition they left.

          What if it rains, or there is bad weather?

          Our teams are trained and equipped to continue moving safely in most weather conditions. We use protective coverings, sealed trucks, and proven procedures to keep your belongings dry and secure throughout the move.

          If severe or unsafe weather impacts your moving schedule, we’ll communicate with you promptly and arrange a suitable solution — whether that’s delaying loading, rescheduling, or adjusting delivery plans.
