New Zealand has strict customs and biosecurity requirements for household goods entering the country. It can sound daunting, but you won’t be expected to work it all out on your own.
What may need extra attention?
Outdoor equipment, bicycles, gardening tools, camping gear, footwear and other items that may carry soil, plant material or organic matter should be thoroughly cleaned before shipping. Some food, plant and animal products may also be restricted or require declaration.
